  • post-ib is FOR REAL NOW

finally. i'm kind of glad i wasn't in hong kong, because i would've had to stay up till 4am to get my IB results. but i had to wake up and wait until noon to know if i wasted the last two years of high school or not!
anyway. it wasn't a waste! i am THROUGHHH even though no TOK/EE points it's a-ok.
UCLA HERE I COME i can now go to orientation in peace, unless something comes up o.o
tonight, rachel and andrew my beloved cousins are coming and i'll see them for the first time in a year. i miss them so much but don't let them know haha. i'm only their cousin from hong kong. Fremont weather isn't as warm as LA weather. I am liking the sun though.
funny thing is that on the plane, from LA to SF, i was able to watch the clear coast turn into cloudy cloud land haha. funny. it's so windy here too! the kind of wind that bites into your bones.
debating on whether or not to upload the pictures from LA onto xanga, or facebook and THEN link them to xanga. or if i can be bothered at all!
    hm
i'll upload some disneyland pictures of me and moo instead! i get the feeling sometimes that my xanga will last longer than my facebook.
i hope xanga never goes away! too many memories

whilst i love those 6 people, does it always have to be about the meaningless sex that may or may NOT develop into real feelings and commitment? seriously? is that what is going on inside everyone's mind? because i know that these sitcoms are supposedly microcosms of life, but...seriously?! it's always about instant gratifications, and it's rubbing off on this generation more than i had thought. although technology has helped, too...is it really the norm?!
to have to go through all these meaningless dates and relationships, whilst waiting for THE ONE, seems to basically be what the 10 seasons of "Friends" encompasses. and it's kind of disappointing...i mean, yeah there's a bunch of hilarious stuff - but in the end, it's empty FILLER for life.
    please, someone prove me wrong!!!

also, mega pissed off about missing the orientation sign up for the earliest date just because i am FAR AWAY in hong kong and had to finally realize too late that i had to use HOT SPOT SHIELD to not make the internet connection freakin time out.

  • cool poem

so on sunday this surprise came to my dad. he got a phonecall from a friend, who congratulated him. he had no idea what she was talking about, and she read this as him being a very good secret-keeper. haha. turns out she had seen the pamphlet for the people being ordained at the place where my dad got his masters in practical ministry last year, and his name was on it. so my dad and i took a look at the pamphlet online, and laughed our heads off! it was funny. but later on he sent an email to the guy in charge, and turns out it had been decided a while ago - it's just that in between flying places and being busy in general, they had forgotten to call my dad to tell him he was being ordained. haha!

so now i'll be leaving to LA at the end of june, to attend this thing, which also means i'll make it in time for the UCLA summer orientation INSTEAD OF THE INTERNATIONAL ORIENTATION IN SEPTEMBER yay!! :D and if i'm extra lucky, perhaps i'll get to go to their 'wilderness welcome' which is like, a cool camping trip. i do love camping. this also means i won't have a get a summer job just yet ;)

oh and the best thing is that because he's becoming a pastor 5 days after my 18th birthday, i won't be a Pastor's Kid hahahahah pk. which is a bad word in chinese. i should really be writing this kind of stuff in my diary...but it's just so much quicker on xanga!

oh btw, anyone who reads this, isn't this pink background great? i don't know, i'm sort of over it.

    Leisure

WHAT is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?—

No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

  • i find it kind of funny, i find it kind of sad

um...someone sent me a letter with 2 “英國郵票” + a post it note...so strange. feared it might've been anthrax or something...
the writing on the envelop is gigantic and childish. and it was sent from hong kong. WHO in hong kong would send me 2 "english postage stamps" ???
or maybe it was a joke. maybe...it was meant to be sent to someone else?
    maybe it's encrypted.

  • literary genius at age 7

So I was looking through facebook pages of my old classmates at WPL and saw someone had friended a guy who's name was similar to the name of the kid who bullied me in the first grade. anyway, i was like whoa - time to reconnect maybe. so i looked at my old yearbook picture, but it turns out their names were different. anyway, i found this little story i wrote in the 2nd grade! going to type it here to procrastinate for the english exam tomorrow... I got a "nice job!" comment from my teacher

"Once upon a time there was a cat named Caitlin. Caitlin loved to play in the snow and best of all she would always call her friend to play. It was the dog Amy they are best friends. One day the dog ask the cat, "Do you want to go to the park?" The cat said okay lets ride our bikes there, but they have to ask their grandparents first, so they went in their house and asked their grandparents and they said, "Yes" so they went. When they went to the park they saw lots of kids playing with a monster! They were scared but the monster said, you can play with us if you want to. They went and played they had fun. When they went home they can't even stop laughing, because the monster said his name was Happy. When they went home and told their grandparents but they had a good imagination, but they said if you don't come, you can't see it! So the next day they went to the park and saw the monster and the monster said, "Hi Amy, hi Caitlin how are you?" They said "we are fine thank you very much." They said, "Can we play with you?" "O.K," said the monster, "Let's play melting candle. Their grandparents sat and looked at them. Sometimes they fell asleep sometimes the kids woke them up. When it was time to go home they said, "bye bye" to each other. They were Happy. They told lots of people that they saw a monster and it's good so lots of people went to the park and saw the monster singing a song to himself. So they carefully woke him up and they even played game they don't know. The End

reading this again was fun :) my handwriting hasn't changed....
